My name is Tony Burlinson.
I’ve spent 25+ years working Technology and Financial Services, and seen multiple transformations unfold: Desktop computing, email, the world wide web, smartphones, digital services, big data, and now AI.
They all follow the same pattern. In the early days, no one knows exactly where the transformation is heading. There’s a sense that society is loosing ‘something’ and jobs will be swept away.
Then the technology matures, reshapes how we live and work, and ultimately how we think and interact with other people.
What once felt disruptive becomes the new normal. We expect the benefits to be available on demand, everywhere, all the time. The worries about job losses evaporate as new roles emerge that we could not have originally imagined.
AI is likely no different.
The AI transformation we are living through now will soon be embedded into our lives and we will not be able to imagine how we got by without it.
The world will be a better place.
